A Handful of Fair Maidens

I HAVE INTERNET ACCESS!!!
Full and unrestricted 30mb glory!

I have a lot of catching up to do over the next few days and I think I will start by sharing these lovely ladies...

I hope that they will become fully blossomed works of art. I have been on quite the sketching kick without internet access and it makes me wonder how productive I would be if I went without it all together.

The Maple Table

Yesterday, my husband gave me the privilege of accompanying me to an antique store we have outside town. This is a significant event because while he loves antiques, my dear Stephen grows weary of the guilt trips I give myself before purchasing (or not purchasing) an item. -Yesterday was a horse of a different color. We were both amazed by the selections available, but I was not faced with my usual dilemma of deciding between two pieces because when I saw it I knew it was made for me and that it would never forgive me if I left it there...

Brass filigree and antique ivory are inlaid into the top of the table.

Can you believe that this is hand carved?!

... I am not sure that the seller knew what he/she had. This little baby only cost me about $72. I could be mistaken, but I thought it was a steal!

Fox Prints (For Sale)

I currently have two prints for sale on DA. I would like to sell prints on Etsy, but I need some suggestions for printers. Any help I can get will be appreciated!

Patterns For You!

I love creating patterns. I especially LOVE hand drawn patterning -so here are two freebies that would be great for blogs.
(I like the thought of the second one becoming a stencil for fabric or some sort of hand painted piece of furniture)
"Dear Rose"  is pretty busy, but I think that it would be very nice in moderation. My favorite variation is the far-right coloring in the image above and this took me about 1hr to complete.

"Bonny Swans" was done by hand and then scanned for digital editing. It looks best where is has room to stretch -which means that it is excellent for banners and backgrounds!

I think that I would like to make some more for everyone if they are received well.

Which is your favorite?

Ducks and Dishes

Here are the Summer ducklings at my in-laws' farm. Aren't they ADORABLE?!
They came as quite a surprise because the mother has never successfully hatched any before.
They are mule-ducks (Pekin/Muscovy), so they are sterile -but so darn cute!

While living here my work space is very limited. I long for my watercolors and oils, but everything is in storage for now so I needed to pick something up to quench my artistic thirst...

Ta-da! Ceramic painting!

... As if I need another hobby.
But I am thankful for the time that it consumes. I'm wondering if I might have the time to do a hand painted tile table-top.

Something like this...
but with different legs and hand painted tiles in the center.
Too bad I have other priorities right now.
